Well, we’re definitely in Nutcracker season. Here’s an interesting clip courtesy of the National Ballet of Canada, Let it Snow!, featuring commentary from “Snow Queen” Alexandra MacDonald (NBOC Second Soloist) including mention of something I’ve always wondered about: the perils for dancers performing on a slippery stage covered with “snow”! Stage Manager Jeff Morris describes how the “snow” is manufactured and ultimately made to float down onto the stage.
