Q: Who should use Ballet Etudes and Etudes II?
A: Ballet Etudes and Etudes II are albums of music for ballet class designed primarily for students at an "early majors" level. However, as you'll see below, there is substantial information about both albums on this site to help you make your own decisions, meeting your own personal needs and the needs of your students.
Q: For the current edition of Ballet Etudes, what changes did you make (and why)?
A: The changes are as follows:
- the recorded voice identifications preceding each selection have been eliminated. (They were found to be annoying and unnecessary.)
- all selections at the barre (1-19) and all batterie selections (41-44) are now played twice within the same track. There is a 5-second pause between each playback. (This allows music for both sides at the barre, and extra music for batterie exercises.)
- 12 selections (5 at the barre and 7 in the centre) have been lengthened. (Longer exercise are now possible for these selections.)
All of the above changes were made with the help of input and feedback from customers and friends. You can consult the Ballet Etudes Complete Tracks Sheet, which has been updated to reflect all of the changes. Click on underlined selections for audio samples. (For customers who are interested, a few of the original edition CD's are still available. Contact me for details.)Q: How do Ballet Etudes and Etudes II compare to eachother?
